About FRASER

We are a small company based in the Shetland Isles, the traditional home of fine knitting. This far-flung group of islands to the distant north of the Scottish mainland has long been a stopping-off point for seafarers on the Baltic and Scandinavian trading routes, and over the centuries has absorbed influences from many cultures. These rich sources are reflected in the motifs and pattern structures of Fair Isle knitting.

We love the classic style of the patterns and their infinite variety, the way they evolve and renew with each generation. A hallmark of our style is an understated and elegant approach, resulting in harmonious compositions that are equally at home in country and city.

Our headbands, scarves, cowls and wraps are knitted in Shetland using pure high quality yarns for a smooth and luxurious texture. We wash everything by hand in soft Shetland water, bringing out the natural softness of the wool.

Quality is a theme that runs through all our processes, from sourcing of the highest quality yarns, through all aspects of the design process, through meticulous inspection at all stages of production and finishing, to the special care we take in presentation, packaging and shipping. In this way you can be sure that your Fraser product will be of the highest possible quality.
